My educational leadership begins each day with questions to reflect on:
Have I helped a child academically, physically, or emotionally?
Have I brought a healthy attitude into my classroom?
Have I found something good to say about everyone?
Are my lesson-plans bulletproof?
Have I undergone professional development?
Have I listened carefully to a student - both by what they say and what they don't?
Is my marking caught up daily?
Have I given constructive feedback?
Have I encouraged a child to challenge themselves to new peaks?
Have I been gracious, kind, and courageous?
Have I acted out of love?

The motivation for me as a teacher is the "eureka" moments in a child's education.... those moments of pure joy of understanding and of mastering a task...those moments of thankfulness to be a part of the living, learning universe.... those victories of learning and teaching together that change us...
Synergy: when one plus one is greater than two...together we are stronger...
I believe that every child needs a mentor; someone that will believe in their potential, no matter what. As a teacher, I need to be visionary and see beyond where we are now to where we can go together. Our journeys over the mountains and through the deep waters begin in September; we can see the Village of Success a long, long way off - too far to reach right now; but we get there together, one task at a time, toughened and transformed, tired but rejoicing, by June.
